Netaji, UPSC@100 and Sanskrit: Is Bharat Looking Back to Move Forward - inferring Modiji's speech...

At the centenary celebration of the UPSC, Prime Minister Narendra Modiji recalled an interesting episode from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's life - his encounter with Sanskrit as part of the civil-services examination of the colonial era.

It was a small historical reference, but perhaps it raises a much larger question.

Is Bharat beginning to rediscover Sanskrit?

A modern Sanskrit revival cannot simply mean returning to the past.

The more interesting possibility is to connect Sanskrit with the future - computational linguistics, artificial intelligence, natural-language processing, knowledge representation, education, and the study of India's scientific and philosophical traditions.

Imagine a Bharat where Sanskrit is studied not only as an ancient language, but also as an intellectual technology - alongside mathematics, computer science, and AI.

Perhaps the question is therefore not:

"Will Bharat return to Sanskrit?"

but rather:

"What new form of Sanskrit can Bharat create for the 21st century?"

If the West Can Study Latin, Why Can't Bharat rediscover itself through Sanskrit?

The best part of today's Bharat is that we have a boss at the top with an absolute no-nonsense, clear head - who knows what he is speaking about.

Star War - phase I ?

A Chinese military satellite fragments in orbit.

A few days later an USA military satellite breaks apart.

Just coincidence?

Perhaps...

Or can dots be connected?

Are we witnessing the phase I of star war?

The U.S., China and Russia already possess sophisticated counter-space capabilities. Satellites can be monitored, approached, jammed, spoofed, blinded or potentially disabled. And in September 2026, the United States publicly acknowledged having on-orbit space-control weapons.

Star War - Phase I may be the transformation of space from a peaceful domain of communication, navigation and exploration into a contested military theatre.

The real space war may not begin with spectacular explosions.

It may begin quietly - with surveillance, electronic warfare, cyberattacks, satellite manoeuvres and the ability to deny an adversary access to space.

And if that is indeed where we are heading, the first battle may already have begun long before anyone officially calls it a war.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is meant to be an independent constitutional body ensuring free and fair elections. Yet a recurring pattern under Congress governments - especially during periods of prolonged dominance - raises legitimate questions about political influence over appointments, civilian awards, and the post-retirement trajectories of several Chief Election Commissioners (CECs). The facts above, drawn from public records, official lists, and contemporary reporting, illustrate how proximity to the ruling party often correlated with recognition or continued public roles.

The Gen Z of Bharat should examine primary records - official CEC lists, Padma award notifications, parliamentary proceedings, and the Shah Commission findings—rather than accept simplified narratives from any political side. Free and fair elections depend on an Election Commission that is, and is seen to be, above partisan influence.

Young generation of Bharat - sab kuch dikhta nahi hai. Try to assimilate facts - don't be influenced by political propaganda. Learn History and have the capacity to discern propaganda from TRUTH.

AI - God in a Box?

From time immemorial, we have asked questions and hoped for answers from God.

Now we look at the screen of a computer and ask our questions in the hope of getting the correct answers.

For the first time in the scientific world, we have created something that does not just store information but participates with us in creating and explaining almost everything possible under the sun.

It can create literature...

It can write poetry...

It can create art and drawings...

It can create software code that will give the correct and expected output...

That changes our relationship with a machine...

But the danger is not AI answering like God...

The danger is with our society treating AI as God...

If we stop questioning its answers, we surrender judgment.

If we allow it to replace curiosity, we surrender learning.

If we use it to avoid thinking, we surrender the very ability that created it.

The box is powerful...

But the intelligence which we possess to put it inside a box is ours.

From Fitkari to Crystal Deodorant : Bharat Must Tell Her Own Stories...

Fitkari became “crystal deodorant.”

Think about that for a moment.

For generations, fitkari (alum) has been an ordinary household product in Bharat. Somewhere along the way, the same basic idea was packaged, branded, and positioned for the modern global consumer as “crystal deodorant.”

The lesson isn't about deodorant.

It is about storytelling.

Bharat has thousands of such stories — in traditional foods, crafts, materials, agriculture, wellness practices and everyday ingenuity.

But having knowledge is not enough.

The world doesn't just buy products.

It buys stories, experiences and meaning.

We need to take our traditional knowledge, combine it with modern science, research, design and entrepreneurship, and present it confidently to the world.

Not by claiming that everything traditional is automatically superior.

But by asking:

What can we validate?
What can we improve?
What can we build?
And how can we tell its story?

The next global product from Bharat may not necessarily be something invented yesterday.

It may be something that has been sitting quietly in an Indian household for generations.

Bharat doesn't lack stories.
Bharat needs more storytellers.

"A defeated nation is not truly defeated as long as it can protect its culture and values.

But can a nation fragmented into pieces in the name of religion and caste protect its culture from invaders?

If the invaders are to establish themselves on this land, they will have to attack the culture that connects one individual to another—and they will do so, unless we remain vigilant.

And if we abandon our cultural heritage, our downfall is certain.

Experience shows that a defeated mind, a defeated kingdom, and a defeated nation often accept the values and culture of the victor due to conditioned habits.

Therefore, if the dormant consciousness of this nation is not awakened soon, if this nation is not organized, it will become difficult to free our motherland from foreign subjugation.

Knowledge is what shows the path to liberation. And if that very knowledge is powerless today, then it is useless.

Will Indians, who seek liberation even from the cycle of birth and death, accept the bondage of the Yavanas (foreign invaders)?"

"Give us the command, Acharya! We are ready to be free from all bondage."

Yet remember—awakening is the goal. Liberation from invaders is the goal.

Sacrifice is not the ultimate end; it is merely a means. Therefore, let no sacrifice be cowardly or go to waste.

Go to every village and city in the region—among the Kekayas, Malavas, Madras, Kshudrakas, Kshatriyas, Kathas, Vasatis, and in every republic—ignite the flame of the freedom struggle!

In the fire of this sacrifice, we must consume the invaders.

Resolve that in every heart, the lamp of freedom will burn, turning into a raging wildfire against the invaders!

A nation is not defeated merely when it loses a war or its land is occupied.

A nation is truly defeated when its people are made to forget who they are.

History shows that military conquest is not always enough to control a civilization. A more lasting conquest can come through cultural subversion—when a people gradually begin to see their own language, traditions, history and civilization as inferior, while believing that everything foreign is inherently superior.

Bharat has witnessed invasions, changing kingdoms and centuries of foreign rule. But Bharat survived because its civilization did not live only in palaces or political institutions.

It lived in ordinary homes.

In mothers speaking their mother tongue.

In grandparents telling the Ramayana and Mahabharata.

In festivals, songs, literature, philosophy and countless local traditions.

Yet political domination can sometimes be followed by something more subtle: an attempt to reshape how a people see themselves. When generations are disconnected from their history, taught to feel ashamed of their cultural inheritance, or gradually lose their language and civilizational memory, the conquest becomes deeper.

That is why preserving sanskriti does not mean rejecting modernity.

We can build artificial intelligence, explore space and embrace science while remaining connected to our roots.

We can speak global languages without abandoning our mother tongues.

We can look towards the future without becoming strangers to our past.

A tree grows taller not by cutting its roots, but by strengthening them.

Armies can occupy land.

Empires can redraw borders.

But the deepest victory over a nation comes when its people voluntarily abandon their own cultural memory.

As long as a people remember their stories, speak their languages, and carry their sanskriti from one generation to another, their civilization remains alive.

A nation is not defeated when it loses a battle.

It is defeated only when it forgets who it is.

And as long as Bharat remembers its civilizational memory, Bharat lives.
